Webinar with team Ukraine #1: 15 October, 2015

The webinar had two key objectives. Firstly, it aimed to introduce the media researchers to the study “Crisis Conflict and Critical Diplomacy: EU Perceptions in Ukraine and Israel/Palestine (C3EU)”. Secondly, the meeting served as a teambuilding activity. The researchers had already collaborated with each other before the project, however, during the webinar they met Professor Natalia Chaban, Jean Monnet Chair and C3EU Leader, and Dr. Olga Gulyaeva, Post-Doctoral Fellow and Research data manager. 
Professor Natalia Chaban discussed further project’s development with the researchers, specifically the upcoming workshop at the Technical University of Darmstadt (TUD), Germany on November 15-19, 2015. Dr. Olga Gulyaeva introduced Google Drive that would assist in data collection.

Webinar with team Ukraine #2: 13 December, 2015

The researchers, Associate Professor Natalia Chaban and Dr. Olga Gulyaeva met to discuss the pilot phase of the media data collection process, addressing questions on routing data gathering and analysis.  Dr. Olga Gulyaeva delivered her observations of the collected data. Professor Natalia Chaban discussed the upcoming initial phase of the project with the researchers.


Webinar with team Ukraine #3: 6 April, 2016

Dr. Olga Gulyaeva met with the team to discuss the media data collection process, to address questions on data gathering and analysis. Importantly, Dr. Gulyaeva delivered tutorial to help researchers use Excel to perform advanced data analysis of the monitored data with functions, formulas and charts. She also discussed the requirements for the presentation of interim results of the first three months of media data analysis at the second Research Workshop in Kyiv on April 18-21.

Iana Sabatovych gets acquaintance to the team, discussing methodology, time-frame for the interviews, points of contact. Discussion covered the process of conducting interviews with media elites in Palestine. 


Webinar with team Ukraine #4: 30 May, 2016

Iana Sabatovych gets acquainted to the researchers and proceeds with introduction into the interview phase of C3EU project. Discussion covers project design, time-frame, and interviews methodology.

Data collection and management, particularly, arranging contact database, its tracking, transcription, translation, and technical issues are covered.


Webinar with team Ukraine #5: 24 August, 2016

Dr. Olga Gulyaeva met with the team to discuss the requirements for the presentation of interim results of the six months of media data analysis at the third Research Workshop in Vilnius (Lithuania) on September 1-3, 2016.

Dr. Olga Gulyaeva answered team’s questions on the use of Excel.


Webinar with team Ukraine #6: 5 November, 2016

The researchers and Iana Sabatovych met as part of post-workshop communication. The meeting was dedicated to the planning of the interviews: review of the questionnaire, the making-up of the contact base and time-frame of the project. The targeted cohorts were determined as well as the ratio between local/regional elites and those representing the capital.


Webinar with team Germany #1: 15 May, 2017

Iana Sabatovych met with the Team Technische Universität Darmstadt. The meeting was devoted to the development of q-sort instrument and construction of Q-Sort tests. The back-up option has been elaborated for the test and different strategies of organising participants have been discussed. A set of other follow-up webinars took place during the same week for the construction of the test.


Webinar with team Ukraine #7: 17 May, 2017

Iana Sabatovych met the researchers in a discussion on technical, methodological and organisational dificulties for conducting Q-Sort analysis. Registration at programme website, construction of Q-Sort tests, and working with Q-Sort instrument have been discussed. The main challenge referred to the scheduling of the event and work with students. Different strategies of organising participants have been elaborated. A set of inidividual follow-up webinars took place during the same week in the course of technical support and organisation of the test in various locations.


Webinar with teams Israel and Palestine #4: 20 May, 2017

Iana Sabatovych met the researchers from the two teams for the discussion of methdological and technical issues in running the test. The development of q-sort instrument, a set-up of the test, technical aspects of software, ethical issues and experience of other teams have been discussed in the context of given locations.  


Webinar with team LIthuania #1: 23 October, 2017

Professor Natalia Chaban, Iana Sabatovych and Assoc. Prof. Gintaras Šumskas meet to discuss the pilot phase of the media data collection process. They addressed data gathering and analysis and the application of gathered data. Iana Sabatovych delivered her observations on the organisation of data collection and storage.


Webinar with team LIthuania #2: 07 March, 2018

Iana Sabatovych and Assoc. Prof. Gintaras Šumskas meet to discuss organisational, methodological and technical issues of running q-sorts and focus groups in Lithuania. During the meeting, the test for the participants was set-up, expectations and ethical questions as well as experience of other teams were discussed. Specifics of data collection in the selected location were addressed.


Webinar with teams Israel and Palestine #5: 16 February, 2018

Professor Natalia Chaban, Dr. Patrick Müller, Iana Sabatovych and Yazid Zahda meet to discuss organisational aspects of q-sort collection. The participants exchanged their ideas on the aims and purpose of the project as well as their expertise on q methodology. Iana Sabatovych ran a tutorial on setting up q-sort instrument and technical aspects of software in their connection with the purpose of Q methodology. Experience of other teams was considered while preparing for data collection in Palestine. De-identification of collected data was secured.
