EVENTS & OPPORTUNITIES

Asia Pacific Model European Union 2019

Applications Close Sunday 8th March

The seventh Asia Pacific Model European Union (APEMU) will be held in Hong Kong on 26 and 27 April 2019. It brings together postgraduate students from the Asia Pacific region and New Zealand to simulate the European Union’s decision-making process, promoting a better understanding of European Integration.

Participants assume the roles of Heads of State and/or Ministers of EU Member States. Last years simulation focused on the European Consensus on Development, a shared vision and framework for action for development cooperation for the EU and its Member States. It was a blueprint which aligns the Union’s development policy with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Participants often include EU Studies postgraduate students from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan.

Information on previous APMEU events can be found here.

The project is co-funded by an European Commission grant and jointly organised between the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), the National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE) and European Union Centres Network (EUCN).
