In conjunction with the 2017 Model EU event in Auckland we are offering a Professional Learning Development Workshop for secondary school teachers in New Zealand on 16+17 September 2017 at AUT, city campus.
The EU and Europe are very broad areas and fit with many topics across the curriculum. Following best practice the workshop will use an inquiry-based learning approach which teachers will model to their own students. Dr Martyn Davison, Professional Teaching Fellow at The University of Auckland is a experienced facilitator and will guide teachers through this workshop.
The workshop is designed to assist teachers to introduce the EU into New Zealand’s curriculum and assessment, to build practical classroom work plans and resources, ask topic experts and network with their peers.
The topic of the PLD workshop is aligned with the Model EU theme “UNEXPECTED – Brexit and the future of the European Union”. We expect a high interest in the topic due to recent media attention and possible implications for New Zealand. For more information on the Model EU event please see Model EU Auckland 2017.
